National Farmers Market Week, August 7-13,

Celebrate National Farmers Market Week by supporting your local growers & producers at Wilmington’s Riverfront Farmers Markets – Downtown & Ogden Park.  Small farmers and small businesses from eight area counties sell their produce and products directly to consumers at both market locations.  Bladen, Brunswick, Columbus, Duplin, New Hanover, Pender, Onslow and Sampson Counties are all represented at our markets!

The Ogden Park Farmers Market, Wednesday, August 10th, hosts the 4H 4 Fun Club, providing information on 4H, Cooperative Extension, Recipes, Market Resources for Children, and some of their own baked goods!  We will also be joined by New Hanover County Health Department nutritionist Audrey Hammonds with handouts concerning nutrition labels, portion sizes, cholesterol, eating fruit & vegetables and sugar intake.

Catch Food Truck will also be on site, 11AM-1PM, serving locally-sourced lunch!  Seafood tacos, sliders and more!

All season Farmers Markets offer benefits and add value to our lives and land in many ways – Preserve America’s Rural Livelihoods and Farmland; Stimulate Local Economies; Increase Access to Fresh, Nutritious Food; Support Healthy Communities and Promote Sustainability.
